Chairman

Mohammed Khalid Al-Naimi, who calls himself a true Saudi ‘Aramcon’ was born in 1945 in the Aramco hospital in Dhahran. Born into a family where most of the members are part of Saudi Aramco, he developed a close affinity for the company and strove to serve Saudi Aramco by any possible means and way. While growing up however, Mr. Naimi took a very different career option into finance and became a banker.

After graduating with an accounting degree from Arab Beirut University in 1967, Mr. Naimi joined Saudi Hollandi Bank on 12th June, 1967 – An affiliate of ABN AMRO, a Dutch bank which is the first and oldest bank in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia established in October 1922. He started as a Senior Clerk and there was no looking back. His ‘ladder of success’ in the bank was as follows:
  • Senior Clerk
  • Manager Dammam & Al Khobar main branches
  • Eastern Province Manager
  • General Manager KSA– Personal Banking
  • General Manager – Business Development
  • Member of the Board and the Executive Committee Member

After 41 years in the banking industry with the last 15 years as a board member Mr. Naimi retired on 30th September 2008. Despite all these years in the bank his affinity for Saudi Aramco never diminished as his other family members like sons, brothers and uncles were all working for Saudi Aramco, thus following the family tradition.

Some 15 years ago he decided to serve Saudi Aramco in a more direct way and started his own company “Tanajib for General Contracting” to provide oil field services to Saudi Aramco. Right from the start Mr. Naimi knew that to serve Saudi Aramco better he had to bring unique technologies into the Kingdom and in doing so would enable Saudi Aramco to save them millions of dollars in the process.

In order to ensure the stability and continuing success of the company, Mr Naimi has been grooming his son Salem who is currently finishing his BSc in Chemical Engineering at the University of Bahrain. Salem has already been working with his father and will gradually take over the reins as his expertise grows.

More recently to further his cause Mr. Naimi formed a joint venture with the Al-Othman group and started Gas & Oil Technologies (GOTech). The Al-Othman group, a trusted name and financially strong group, made it easy for Mr. Naimi to bring into the Kingdom the best and unique leading-edge technologies.

The technologies brought in are as follows:

  • Wildcat Pneumatic Automated Drilling System (WADS) – MD Totco NOV USA
  • Lubraglide® Beads – Sundrilling U.S.A.
  • Lubraglide® Bead Recovery Units – Sundrilling U.S.A.
  • Tractors from Aker Solutions - Norway
  • Well Leak Detection tools from TecWel-Norway
  • Slider to help directional drilling companies – Smith International U.S.A.
